About Carl Michael

Born on New Year’s Eve 1955 in Gothenburg, Carl Michael Bergerheim grew up in the rich musical environment of eastern Värmland. His musical journey began at 13-14 years old with the trumpet before discovering his passion for piano and the sophisticated world of chords and harmonies.

His diverse musical roots encompass classical, gospel, jazz, and Latin American traditions. After foundational studies at Geijerskolan in Ransäter and the Royal Music Academy in Stockholm, he expanded his horizons at Berklee College of Music in Boston and earned his Master of Music in Composition from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

“My music is an acoustic synthesis where different traditions integrate naturally,” explains Bergerheim. “It’s not crossover where styles play against each other, but a seamless whole that reaches both sophisticated concert audiences and general listeners without compromising artistic integrity.”
